Our new website is developing all around us as we speak. Unlike normal static websites, this one will be a constantly changing thing, with season news about local events, things to do and what’s been happening here at The Arches. There will be plenty of places for you to comment, so feel free to write and tell us what you’d like to see more of here.
We’ll be adding lots more information on the things happening in Yorkshire this summer and some new pictures of our hotel and some newly refurbished rooms we’ve just made available.

What a lovely friendly warm welcome from Chris and Jean and all the staff. Room very comfortable and spacious. Decor really tasteful. The bed was so comfortable you just wanted to stay there, not being a great sleeper, I had one of the best night sleep for a long time. Continental breakfast very good and plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble. A beautiful setting away from the crowds, tucked away and very peaceful but within easy reach of Saltburn and surrounding areas.
A great welcome for Holly as well. the resident dogs, Meg and Hope are very friendly. Looking forward to returning at a later date.
What an absolutely fabulous and fantastic hotel this is! We held our wedding here in February 2009 (which appeared on TV’s “Four Weddings” in July!) and it was an amazing day. The staff treated us like family and we will love them forever for making our special day so wonderful!
The food was incredible – ham roast, lasagne, chicken tikka, beef burgundy, vegetarian pasta bake, new potatoes, rice, salad, veg – basically everything we asked for and more – Julian had 3 portions of his main and Claire had 4 desserts! We had a fab time!
All the rooms were taken with our guests and every single one of them said how great this hotel was, and how friendly and welcoming everyone was – true traditional Yorkshire style! They all said they would be back to stay again in the future!
The venue was beautifully decorated for our wedding and Jean and Chris went out of their way to make sure we had the best day ever – and boy, was it! They even agreed to us having Rally demos for our guests and it was wicked fun!
We will be back every anniversary!
